We use the B45 to mark harvest dates and variety codes on our fruit cartons and plastic crates. The ink adheres well to both cardboard and plastic, and it dries fast enough that we can stack the crates immediately after printing. Cartridge Buying Guide:
1. Select by Printhead Size: Choose ink cartridges by printhead height (0.5" or 1") under the "All Ink Cartridges" section.
2. Select by Ink Type: Choose between solvent fast-dry or water-based inks. Inks are further categorized by printer series for easy selection.
3. Select by Printing Material:
For non-porous surfaces like plastic, metal, and glass, choose solvent fast dry inks.
For porous surfaces like wood, cardboard, and fabric, choose water based inks.

Bentsai offers three handheld TIJ printers: BT-HH6105F for small codes up to 0.5 inches, B35 for 1-inch prints, and B85 for large-format marking up to 3.6 inches. All support porous and non-porous surfaces with solvent or water-based inks—portable, low-maintenance, and ready to use.
FDA lot and batch numbers ensure targeted recalls and consumer safety. Compliance requires unique alphanumeric codes, legible printing, durable ink that withstands moisture and abrasion, and prominent placement. Pharmaceutical, supplement, and food manufacturers must follow 21 CFR 211, 21 CFR 111, or FSMA 204. Use high-resolution printers with proper ink for your packaging surface.
